2024/25 Cedar Cottage Pub Football Pool![]() 2024/2025 2024/25 Sheets are here!. Reminder about dropping off sheets: The deadline for submissions is 9:00 PM the night before the first game played in each week dropped off at the liquor store, i.e., Saturday night at 9:00 PM for the weeks that games are played Sundays and Mondays; Friday night at 9:00 PM for the weeks that games are played Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. Rules and Regulations: ![]() This is a straight pick pool for the regular season of the NFL which 18 weeks in duration ending on Sunday, January 5, 2025. All you must do is select the team that will win the game outright. If you select a winner, you get a point. There is seldom a tie in the NFL, so in the event of a tie, no one will be awarded a point. Thursday night games and any Friday night games will not be part of this pool, only Sunday and Monday games and any games that may be rescheduled to Saturday by the NFL. If any games are cancelled due to any reason and are not played in the original week that they were scheduled, those games will not be counted. 2: How to make your picks: Go online to our pool site to download a sheet or come into the cold beer and wine store and ask for a pick sheet from the staff after Wednesday of the next week’s games. Write in your details and then circle the team that you think will win. In no way should you circle both teams for a given game. If you make an error, make your corrected selection as clear as possible so that you do not lose a point or ask for a new sheet from the staff. If you miss a pick and there is no circle indicated for a game, that game will be marked as incorrect. Only one selection sheet per person will be allowed. No multiple sheets under any circumstances. 3: The Timing of Picks: Your picks must be submitted to the cold beer and wine store and the deadline will be 9:00 PM Saturday night. Late picks will not be accepted on Sunday morning, even two minutes before kick-off of the early games. This is to prevent any perceived advantages gained from weather updates, injury status changes, or last minute astrological readings. Once again: Your picks are due no later than 9:00 PM Saturday night. 4: The Tiebreaker Rule: Each week, someone will select more correct winners than the field. That person will be awarded the weekly prize, which will be comprised of the accumulation of the weekly pick fees. As happens, sometimes there will be a tie in the correct number of weekly picks. The total of the final score of the Monday night game, without going over the actual total score, will be used for the tiebreaker. Write your ‘guess’ on the line under the Monday night game. For example, Players 1 and 2 each have 12 correct picks through Sunday’s games and have chosen the same winner for Monday night’s game. Player 1 thinks the total score will be 46. Player 2 thinks it will be 40. On Monday night, the Packers beat the Bears 38-10. The total score is 48; Player 1 is the winner. Another scenario is if the Packers win the game 38-7, the total is 45. Player 1 is only one point from being correct but is over the actual total score; player 2 is 5 points away but is under the actual total score. Player 2 is the winner! If no total score is marked on the sheet, then that sheet will not be considered in the tiebreak procedure and will not win that week even if there are the same number of correct picks as the eventual winner of that week. 5: Disputes: Mistakes happen, and if there has been an error in marking your card, bring it to the attention of the pool moderator. We’ll recheck your score and make any adjustments if required. You may only dispute a score from the previous week- Week 6 errors will not be corrected in Week 10. Please note: the picks sheet submitted will be the official picks that you made. 6: Nicknames: You always wanted a nickname, right? Now is the time to give yourself one. Keep the names clean, please. No vulgarities, curse words, sexual overtones, or overt hate (‘Cowardly Lions’ as a name is funny and expresses a thought, but ‘Decapitate Stafford’ is taking things to a weird and extreme level- something like the latter may not be accepted). Use this as a guideline: If the 12 year old version of yourself thinks it’s the funniest thing in the world, it probably isn’t, and you should try again. 7: The Cost: The cost to enter the weekly pool is $10 and the cost to have your scores accumulated for the yearly pool is $50. The accumulation of money from the weekly fees will be awarded to the single player who makes the most correct picks (and who potentially wins the tiebreaker). You can still win the year end pool, even if you don’t win any week, but you must contribute to the weekly prize to make your picks. The monies collected from the yearly fees will be distributed to the top three players that have the most points in the year end pool at the end of the regular season and that have submitted sheets for each week of the regular season. 8: How Much do you Win?: Prize money is dependent on the number of entries. That is for both the weekly pools and for the year end top player winners. Prize payout for the year end should be calculated by the end of week 3 games to allow for latecomers.
